John Makepeace, PEng, LEEDTM AP
President and General Manager
After graduating from the University of British Columbia (UBC) with a degree in Mechanical Engineering, John worked as a Project Manager and Design Engineer for a large, national mechanical engineering firm. For many years prior to that, he had been a miner and mine manager for the world's largest jade mining operation. In 1991, he founded Jade West Engineering Co. Ltd.

Leila Vaive, PEng
Project Manager
Upon graduation from Shanghai Jiao-Tong University, Leila worked as an Assistant Engineer and then as a Supervisor in the Mechanical Manufacturing Industry. She emigrated to Canada and started working as a Designer in the Consulting Industry in Vancouver in 1993. She received her Professional Designation in 2003 and joined Jade West in August of 2004.
